It's time again to help with the Tour of Utah. This year I need 4 guys to commit to a week of escorting the elite of the elite cyclist in the world from the finish line to the podium to the Anti-doping facility. It will be a lot of fun mingling with Team Radio Shack, BMC, HTC Highroad and other teams. The Tour is Aug 9-14 I need you to commit to the full week if possible most days will be form 12-5ish. If you want to know what it is like ask Dr C, Mason, Kenton, Pat and Joe. they all helped last year and loved it. Give me a call or email. Mike Woodward 801-362-6643 or mike@whytry.org

Road Respect Tour - Utah, June 13-18

UDOT Road Respect Tour - Who wants to join a leg of the ride?

In order to encourage safe cycling and to promote the Road Respect message throughout the state, The Utah Department of Transportation, Zero Fatalities and the Department of Public Safety will be sponsoring the first-ever Road Respect Tour, a bike ride across Utah. Beginning in Logan on June 13 and ending in Hurricane on June 18, a core group of 25 professional Road Respect riders will ride across the state, demonstrating obedience to the road rules and proper cycling etiquette. The riders will visit several cities across the state to participate in fun and educational community events called Road Respect Rallies, or shorter visits called Road Respect Stops.

The public is invited to join the ride and to attend Rallies or Stops. If you would like to join the Road Respect Tour into or out of your community, you are invited to meet the core group at the corresponding "Transition Zone." Those who join the Tour through Transition Zones are responsible for their own food, water, support and accommodations. The exception is the Moab ride, which will have rest stops with food, water and two SAG vehicles.

Hell of the North

I'm not sure how many of you saw the recent email from Ira, but sounds like they are wanting to beat UVU at the Hell of the North race April 2nd. Good luck guys.

Here is the email:

All,

Attached is the Map of the course for the Weber crit Friday afternoon.

Hope to see you all there!

Ira

P.S. Mark your calendars for Hell of the North on April 2nd. We want to have a lot of collegiate racers out on that day. Last year, UVU completely dominated the fields cuz only a select few riders from other schools showed up. I got a call from an anonymous UVU rider, and they're taunting the other schools, so come on out and everyone bring your A-game!

West Mountain Training Ride - 1.29.11

Shave your legs, it’s time to ride!

I know everyone’s been waiting for the weather to be good enough to do a group ride and this Saturday looks awesome!

Where: Meet at Pat’s house
888 Crescent Drive
Mapleton, UT 84664

When: 11:45 AM Pre Ride Meetup
12:00 STRICT ROLLOUT

We have a few guys who need to get back in time to go to work so the noon rollout will be strictly enforced. If you miss us at Pat’s house you can catch up with us at the Benjamin Church.

Kat has even agreed to make us some food for after the ride. SWEET!

Preparation: Make sure to bring your own water (2 bottles), food, Spare tubes CO2/Pump and dress warm with layers you can remove if needed.

Route:
Pretty Easy Route – 46 total miles very flat with a few mild climbs. This ride is designed to give us good base miles to get us ready for Saint George training camp in February.

If anyone need a ride down to Pat’s house let’s carpool. I live close to campus & I’ve got space on top of my car for a 2 bikes and one in the trunk.
