RMCCC Conference Finals

The UVU Cycling team participated in the RMCCC conference final this weekend. The team raced in all three events, team time trial( TTT), Crit, and Road race. Saturday morning started with the TTT. It was raining and cold, the road was very wet and slick. We race two teams of three, Mason, Jeff, Joel, and Dan, Alex, Mike. Team one rolled out first and did a great job catching their minute team and putting up a time of 42:02, even with a crash from Mason. Team two rolled out three minutes behind them. They caught their two minute team and posted a time of 42:48. The times were good enough for 4th and 5th places.

In the afternoon the team went to the Salt Lake DMV to race in a crit. Again the rain started just before the race, making conditions slick and wet. The crit was a 30 min race around the driving course and parking lot with a short steep hill in the middle, just to make this interesting. The race held a fast pace and this cost a number of the team member to be pulled for the race. Pat and Mason made it to the end and finished in the lead group. Way to go guys.

Sunday morning a few team members went back to Miller Motorsport park to race the road race. This was a circuit around the race track. The team finish in good fashion and had a good showing.

All in all this weekend was a lot of fun and the team had a great experience. We will post some pictures as soon as we get some.

Rides for the week.
Tuesday at 3pm is still the same - meet in the J parking lot at UVU. Paceline is the word of the day.
Wednesday - there is a Blue rep. in town ta SBR and he is doing demo rides all day Wednesday, and then Kyle at hosting a meeting at the shop at 7pm. To accommodate riders that want to test out some bikes and attend the meeting with the rep, we will be departing from SBR (4th north and State St. Orem)for the group ride on Wednesday at 5pm.
We made this change for the Wednesday ride so you can ride the Blue bicycles before the ride, and attend the meeting afterward.
Remember to stay out of the "red zone" at the end of the week because we have the TTT and collegiate criterium at the University of Utah on Saturday, and a road race on Sunday.

Team Kit Has Arrived

The Team Kit is here!
After much anticipation and waiting the team kit has arrived and is ready for you to come and get it! Mason will have it with him for tomorrow's team ride at 3:00, and then it will go down to campus and be available in Dr. Creer's office. Come and get it at the ride tomorrow, or grab it a school anytime after Monday!
They look great, and it even looks like everyone's stuff is here and correct! Whew!
Thanks to Mason, Mark, Dr. C. and anyone else who helped with this huge project.

UVU Cyclists,
Thanks for the awesome turn out last night at SBR. We're all pretty excited about this sponsorship. As you could all see, Kyle is really going to hook us up.
Group ride tomorrow at 3pm. We are meeting at Cabela's, so don't go to the J Lot. We will do a fun ride into Alpine. Don't worry we're not riding on the Highland Highway. The ride is roughly 30 miles, so plan on being out around 2 hours. Our team physiologist is making an extra effort to be there, so this will be a good ride to show up to.
See ya there!

Hell of the North Photos

Some Photos from Hell of the North.

Here are a few more...

Here are some of our pictures from Hell of the North today.

Hell Of The North

Congratulations to Pat Terry scoring the first win for the UVU Cycling team. The race was cold, wet and muddy ot to mention the horizontal snow. Pat and Mason started right out of the gates with a hard attack that lasted well into the first of five laps. In the middle of the second lap the peloton split into two groups and then again into two more. If the pace of the race didn't get you then it was the the head wind or the cross wind or the mud or a nice combination of the three. On the last lap Pat was sitting in the middle of the peloton when attacks started to happen. He jumped onto the wheel of a attacker and followed him all the way to the win. Way to go Pat and the rest of the team. offical result will be posted later a long with some pictures. Jeff did well in the Cat 4 race even with a crash.
