Todays Crit

With one lap in the bag the pace jumped up dramatically. The pack started to string out and bleed riders. After a few more laps there was the sound every racer hates. Someone pinged a pedal on the ground in the second turn taking a few riders down. Four riders were now away with more than half the race to go.

With a little less than two laps to go, Nolan Finlayson jumped off of the front of the lead group and pushed himself out a few seconds. He held the lead to take the win. It was a good race and a good time. Not to mention it paid out. The more people that come, the more money you can win. Tell all your friends to come race.

Up Close and Personal/Tour of Utah

Hey Guys,

As I am working with the Tour of Utah, I am going to be in charge of post race awards ceremony. I need some help to put this on. Each day I need 5-7 people to round up stage and jersey winners after each stage so they can get their awards. This will give you a chance to get up close and personal with the racers. ie George Hincapie, Dave Zabriskie, Jeff Louder, and others. Let me know if you can help out. Email mike@tourofutah.com

BMC at the Tour of Utah

BMC Racing Team Will Compete At Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah

National road champion George Hincapie, and Salt Lake City native and
2008 Tour of Utah winner Jeff Louder to race

SALT LAKE CITY - July 12, 2010 - The 2010 Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah presented by Zions Bank is pleased to announce that the BMC Racing Team will participate in next month's race with a squad of five-riders.

The squad will include three-time National Road Rhampion George Hincapie, Salt Lake City native and 2008 Tour of Utah winner Jeff Louder, and fellow Americans Chris Barton, Chris Butler and Swiss national Simon Zahner.

Hincapie went pro in 1994 and is recognized for riding on the team of eight Tour de France champions and for being the only rider to join Lance Armstrong in all seven of his victories from 1999-2005.

"I'm excited to be able to do another race in the U.S.," said Hincapie. "From what Jeff and other racers have told me, The Tour of Utah is well organized and very demanding."

Louder has been a pro-cyclist since 2000 and lives in Salt Lake City when he's not racing overseas. Besides his win at the 2008 Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah, he also finished third overall at last year's race, and has finished on the podium in several international races including the Tour de Beauce and the Tour of Qinghai Lake.

"I am very happy to be racing the Tour of Utah with BMC Racing," said Louder. "As a Utah native, I am particularly motivated to do well and we are bringing a team that will be competing for the win."

The Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah is a six-day, 300-mile plus professional bicycle road race along the Rocky Mountain's Wasatch Range through some of Utah's most beautiful and challenging terrain. Scheduled to take place next month, August 17-22, 2010, the Tour of Utah will attract 18 professional cycling teams totaling 144 cyclists competing for a cash/prize purse of $45,000.

More than 30,000 spectators are expected to line the racecourse and attend the festivals in Ogden, Park City, Provo, Salt Lake City and Tooele.

UVU Crits!!!

UVU crits start this Monday July 5th, Two really cool things this year.
1st
We got a new way better course. It is dead flat, 1.2 mile Closed Course, Brand New Asphalt,
The course is 4 corners and two of the four are double wide roundabouts.

At first we will offer 3 races, Kids category at 5 pm, cats 4,5 at 6pm and cats 1,2,3 at 7pm. As attendance increases, so will the categories.

2nd thing thats really cool.
We dont wanna make money off this crit. We just want to promote cycling, Especially in the big UC. So we are offering a 100% payout. We have to pay usacycling for each rider, refs, and for EMT's. But after those are paid all the other monies will be put back into paying out cash purses.

Also, we believe its kinda lame to just pay the top 3 riders, so we are stretching it out 6 deep.

Finally, SBR will offer Prime lap prizes. Both races will have a Prime lap of $10 cash!!!

Crit is near Vineyard Park in Orem Approx 200 s. I will post the flyer as soon as I get it.

Bring your friends!!!!! The more people who come the more we can pay out!!!
